These eight people will act as your union representatives. Any steward can represent any member. You do not need to work in the same department. 

We strongly encourage you to exercise your right to union representation. If you are called to an investigation or disciplinary meeting by the Employer, you have the right to choose a steward and have them come to the meeting with you.

Stewards do far more than represent you in disciplinary issues. If you believe management has violated the terms of our new collective agreement, contact a steward -- they will work with you to investigate the problem and resolve the issue. If your issue cannot be resolved quickly, your steward can help you file a grievance or bring the problem to the attention of the Labour Management Committee and/or the Union Staff Rep .

We are the union and we democratically elected these new stewards. It is the commitment of the members to act that makes our union strong!
