Health Services Providers Month

To All Health Services (Component 4) Members:

As a result of Component 4 members’ efforts to mark a date of recognition for the wide variety of work performed by health services workers, the BC government has proclaimed January as Health Services Providers Month.

The new proclamation, being more inclusive, recognizes duties performed in residential care, assisted living, extended health, home and community care, mental health and addictions, acute care, emergency, maternity, and primary health care as well as laboratory technicians, health inspectors, and support workers.

The BCGEU congratulates members for successfully advocating on behalf of all health services providers in the province for this important recognition. On this first annual Health Services Providers Month, we extend our respect and appreciation for the critical work you do in providing essential health services to British Columbians.

In solidarity,

Sherry Ogasawara, VP, Health Services, Component 4
