Who negotiates the Health Facilities sectoral agreement?

The Health Facilities sectoral agreement is negotiated by the Facilities Bargaining Association (FBA) with the Health Employers' Association of BC (HEABC).

The FBA is a multi-union association, with the Hospital Employees' Union (HEU) as lead.

How many workers total are covered by the Health Facilities sectoral (FBA) agreement?

About 60,000 are covered by the FBA agreement, of which 2,400 are BCGEU members. The remaining members belong to one of the other FBA unions, including the HEU.

Health care professionals in facilities work in a variety of settings including institutional and long-term-care facilities and provide personal care, housekeeping, building maintenance, laundry, dietary, security and rehabilitation services.
