Hearts and Hands Conference – Vancouver

Interested in participating in this year's Hearts and Hands Conference in Vancouver? The conference is a day of celebration and education for BC's health care assistants, care aides and community health workers, and will be held on October 3rd in Vancouver at the Italian Cultural Centre.

BCGEU's Components 4 (Health Services) and 8 (Community Health Services) are jointly sponsoring this event and each component has elected to send a total of five delegates each to the two conferences.

Your component is asking for interested members to send in the Expression of Interest form to:

This year's education will focus on the topic of difficult families and clients, dealing with work/life stress and how to get balance. Topics include: "Challenge of staying healthy in healthcare", "Using laughter to increase happiness and resilience at work" and "working with families".

Health care assistants, care aides and community health workers work in our homes, community, hospitals and long term care facilities. They are the true unsung heroes of our health care system and this education opportunity represents a chance to appreciate and celebrate the unique work that they do. It also provides a lead up to the provincial recognition of Health Care Assistants Day in the province of British Columbia on October 18th.
