On behalf of the more than 72,000 members of the BCGEU, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of BCGEU member Shelley Sheppard, who lost her 15 month old child.
While understandably devastated by the tragedy, Shelley and her family have been outspoken on the need to reform B.C.’s child care system so that no other parent has to experience what they have.
In solidarity with their family, the BCGEU is recommitting ourselves to fight for quality, accessible publicly funded childcare for all of BC's children.
Baby Mac, as he was affectionately known, and his loving family will always be in the forefront of our thoughts.
