Incorrect candidate biographies sent out for Lake City/Cascades Casinos - BCGEU

To: All BCGEU Members at Lake City/Cascades Casinos

Please accept our apologies. When the Union mailed out ballots and biographies for the election of bargaining committee member for Lake City Casino Kelowna, and Cascades Casino Penticton, incorrect biographies were sent to the membership. Lake City Kelowna candidate biographies were sent to members working at Cascades Penticton, and vice versa. We sincerely apologize for this oversight, and will be mailing out the correct bio's this week.

Members are strongly urged to participate in this important vote.

To cast a ballot, look for the candidates running for election at your worksite.

You can only vote for candidates from your direct worksite.

Lake City Casino Kelowna - one position

· Jeff Emerick
· Caitlin Pells
· Gayle Furgala
· Heather Polson

Cascades Casino Penticton - one position

· Joyce Lennon
· Jeff Carlson
· Bryan Woodard
· Doug Zarr
· Brian Murray
Balloting packages are being mailed to all members for whom the Union has current mailing addresses.

Mark your ballot clearly indicating your one choice and place it inside the small brown coin envelope. Any ballot with more than one person selected will be considered to be spoiled and not counted. Place the coin envelope in the declaration ballot envelope and seal it. Fill out the information on the declaration ballot envelope and return it to the Union in the enclosed self-addressed postage paid envelope. Make sure to sign the declaration ballot.

Your ballot must be received no later than Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

Once a person has been confirmed as a member of the Union, the coin envelopes will be removed from the declaration envelopes. Only when all coin envelopes have been removed will they be opened and counted. This is to ensure that your vote remains confidential and no one can tell how you voted.

If you do not receive a ballot through the mail, this likely means that we do not have your mailing address on file. In situations like this, you will need to contact your BCGEU area office to obtain a ballot. Ballots will be available at the BCGEU Kelowna area offices located at 1064 Borden Ave. Office hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Members will also be able to cast ballots at membership meetings at each casino, dates and times to be scheduled in the near future. When confirmed, a bulletin will be sent out to you.

Biographies from the candidates who submitted them will be available for review during the membership meetings at the casinos, as well as on the BCGEU website and are included in the balloting package mailed to you.

To help ensure you receive a ballot and a copy of bargaining updates, please provide a personal email address to the BCGEU at http://www.bcgeu.ca/update. If we already have an email address on file for you and you wish to edit or update any of your existing contact information, you can use the same form.

In solidarity
