The BCGEU is holding an interim election for members in the Security Department to vote for a new shop steward to fill a vacancy. The election will take place from December 3rd at 4am to December 5th at 12pm (noon).
Voting will take place at the River Rock Security Break Room. Only members who work in the Security Department are eligible to vote. Candidates in this interim election are (in alphabetical order):
- Michael HARVEY
- Branden LUELO
A ballot box will be placed in the break room, and members will have the opportunity to fill out their ballot either before or after work, or during a break.
For a member's vote to be counted, it is important that the balloting instructions are followed. A member will mark their ballot, place it inside a small blank privacy envelope, and place the sealed blank privacy envelope in a larger white declaration ballot envelope. Members must seal and write their name, contact information, department and signature on the declaration ballot envelope; this is how we confirm only eligible members vote, and that each member only votes once.
Voting will end at 12pm (noon) sharp on December 5th, 2018. Once the election is complete, a bulletin will be sent advising members of the new shop steward in the Security Department.
Questions about this election may be addressed to Steward Eric Escobar or Bargaining Unit Chair Cherry Huang.
In solidarity,
Ryan Stewart
Staff Representative
