Nominations are now open for the following positions.
What do stewards do?
Stewards provide support and advice to members who think they are being treated unfairly. They represent their co-workers by attending Labour Management meetings. These meetings are held during work hours so that there is no loss of pay to the steward. They also serve as a liaison between the member and the BCGEU Staff.
What do OH&S Representatives do?
OH&S Representatives ensure the safety of everyone on the worksite. They attend Health & Safety meetings (also during working hours) where they bring forth safety concerns. Training is provided by the BCGEU.
Both of these positions are vital to ensuring a respectful, safe work environment for all.
