UPDATE – 5:00 a.m. January 19 Armstrong meeting added

Your Committee is pleased to announce that a tentative collective agreement has been reached with JPW Road & Bridge Inc. In order to obtain successorship, as stipulated in terms set in an agreement with the Provincial Government, the agreement must be ratified at least 60 days prior to Request for Proposals for the contractors for the service area. For Service Area 13, the deadline for ratification is January 31, 2018. Details of the agreement will be provided and voting will occur during the meetings which are scheduled as follows:

• January 17, 2018    noon to 2:00 p.m. – Celista
                                    6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. - Chase
• January 18, 2018    noon to 2:00 p.m. – Tappen
                                    6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Malakwa
• January 19, 2018    5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. - Armstrong
                                   noon to 2:00 p.m. – Falkland
                                   5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Armstrong
• January 22, 2018   noon to 2:00 p.m. – Cherryville
                                   6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Lumby

These meetings will be held at the yards indicated above.

If you want to vote after the last meeting, you can submit your ballot confidentially by double sealed "declaration" ballot and either return it to a member of the bargaining committee who will forward it to the Kelowna BCGEU office, or by mailing (or hand delivering) it to the BCGEU Kelowna office. Balloting will remain open until noon on January 26, 2018 – meaning deliver to a member of the bargaining committee or ensure it is received at the BCGEU Kelowna office at 1064 Borden Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 6A8 by12:00 p.m. on January 26, 2018.
