Labour Management Update for Mainroad Contracting Service Members in Area 06

To:       All BCGEU Members at Mainroad Contracting Service Area 06
Re:       Labour Management Update

A Labour Management meeting was held on November 17, 2016, to discuss outstanding items. The Joint Committee has been diligently working hard on enhancing language in regards to your CTO balances.

The Committee has mutually agreed that your CTO balances will be increased to a maximum of $5000.00 which you will be allowed to carry over into the next year.

You will be able to accrue your CTO balance throughout the year as CTO is earned. There is an expectation employees will use their CTO balance by the end of each year.

This balance can be used by either taking approved time off, using outstanding monies for RRSP, or by using any unused balance to purchase shares.

For the members that have balances exceeding $5000.00 the Employer will be sending an option letter to you on December 1, 2016. This letter will include an option deadline of December 15, 2016, for you to make your decisions. Should that not be submitted any outstanding balance exceeding $ 5000.00 will be considered a cash payout.

The Communication Payout Election Form also encourages you to check that you have not exceeded your RRSP Contribution limit, which you can refer to your previous years CRA assessment form for. Your committee strongly encourages you to check to make sure that you have the opportunity to take the option of an RRSP contribution.

We are pleased with this solid achievement that the Joint Committee has made to enhance the language for the members of Area 06.

Should you have any questions please contact your Labour Management Committee members or contact your shop stewards at your site.
