Sisters & Brothers,
As you may know, the union and your employer are in the process of negotiating the Collective Agreement. We have asked a number of times for the employer to commit to additional bargaining dates and to date they have refused to do so. They suggest this is due to our not responding to their latest proposal. We have responded, they simply didn't like the answers.
We remain committed to the collective bargaining process and have urged the Employer to return to the bargaining table and negotiate in good faith to achieve an agreement.
We understand there is a rumour that the Union intends on taking a strike vote and the employer is preparing for such. We want to be clear that we are not considering a strike vote at this point in the process. Our only goal is to return to the bargaining table and to continue the collective bargaining process.
We will keep you updated with any information as it comes.
Please contact your bargaining committee members or the Peace River Area Office if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your continued patience during this difficult round of negotiations.
