LifeLabs Members election of bargaining committee members (4 positions) *UPDATE*

*** Voting Period Extended ***

Due to the volume of balloting packages being mailed out, the Union has extended the period for members to cast ballots throughout the province.

Ballots must now be received no later than Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.
Ballots will be counted no later than Friday, July 8, 2016.

With the election of Patricia Dossett as BCGEU LifeLabs Bargaining Unit Chair, it is now time for the Union to conduct an election for those nominated for the four available LifeLabs Bargaining Committee Member seats.

Members are strongly urged to participate in this important vote.

To cast a ballot, look for the candidates running for election in the occupational group or groups in which you work.

When Cam Coady Building (CCB) became a new worksite in the bargaining unit, the BCGEU promised that the structure of the bargaining committee would allow for direct representation of those members at CCB to ensure that any issues unique to this newly added work location were included in the renewal collective agreement.

All members can vote for one candidate from their occupational group. Members working at CCB can also vote for one of the candidate from the CCB.

Balloting packages including detailed instructions for casting your ballot are being mailed to all members for whom the Union has current mailing addresses. As per BCGEU Constitution & Bylaws, names on ballots will be in random, not alphabetical order.

If you do not receive a ballot(s) through the mail, this likely means that we do not have your mailing address on file. In situations like this, you will need to contact your BCGEU area office to obtain a ballot

To help ensure you receive a copy of bargaining updates please provide a personal email address to the BCGEU at: http://www.bcgeu.ca/email.
