Lifelabs bargaining update – strike vote and FAQ - BC General Employees' Union (BCGEU)

Thank you to all the members who attended last week's meetings, it was an important time to come together to discuss next steps. After meeting with members last week, your bargaining committee has called a strike vote at LifeLabs. If you are receiving this email, you should have already gotten notice of this on Friday.

For members that were not able to attend the LifeLabs bargaining meetings, we've produced an FAQ about bargaining and you can find that here. Please share it with any colleagues that were not able to attend.

By now you should have received your strike vote ballot electronically. If you have not received you strike vote ballot you must email the BCGEU Returning Officer, Linsay Buss at [email protected] as soon as you are able.

In the email, please describe your difficulty clearly and the Returning Officer will contact you as they are able to do so. The hours the Returning Officer will be able to assist you are between 7:30 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday.

Please ensure that you provide your request for voting credentials no later than Thursday, November 21st at noon to ensure you receive your new credentials.

We recommend registering your personal email at the BCGEU member portal by clicking here: https://my.bcgeu.ca/login. In the past, using your work email has meant that certain communications do not reach you.

As we head into the next phase of bargaining it is more important than ever that you are able to get information in a timely manner, so please update with your personal email on the member portal when you get a chance.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee,
Mandy DeFields, Area 01, Chair
Kelly Jeffs, Area 02, Vice-Chair
Maryam Baghalha, Area 03
Tony Ly, Area 04
Rosario Viray, Area 03/04
