We know that often there are questions about your rights under the collective agreement and the LDB Component agreement as the language can often be confusing or not clear. We want to ensure that there is a streamlined process for you to get your questions answered as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact your worksite steward. Do not contact the BCGEU area office or the Local Chairperson, Jennifer Newman. Both will ask you to go back to your steward. If there is NO steward elected at your worksite, then please phone the area office at 1.800.667.1997 and they will direct you to a steward from another worksite.

If you are a steward and you have a question or are unsure on an issue that has been brought to you, then you have 2 options. First, you can contact your Local Chairperson, Jennifer Newman. Be advised, that due to the high amount of calls that Jennifer receives on her days off that there will be times on her days off that she will not be taking calls. Please leave a message and she will get back to you.

As a steward, you may also call the area office to speak to the staff representative assigned to the LDB for the North Island. That representative is Lynda Morrice. Call 1.800.667.1997. Please do not call both Jennifer and Lynda. Jennifer does this on her own time and Lynda has 4 other Locals that she services in government. If Jennifer is unsure on an issue, she will contact Lynda for direction.

If you have OHS questions, please see the appointed OHS representative before contacting the Steward. If the OHS representatives have any issues, they can also phone Jennifer or Lynda.
