Local 402 Well-Being Seniors' Village - Nomination Close and Election of Bargaining Committee - BCGEU


The result of the March 14, 2018 meeting wherein the agenda items had closed nominations for your bargaining committee members and opened the election process for the membership at Well-Being Seniors' Services (CVSV) Ltd. in order to determine your bargaining committee.

Update on Nominations Received:

The additional added position by your Component Executive of a 4th Bargaining Committee member for a RN or LPN remained unfilled. No nominations were received during the call for nominations to which the nominee was from the RN or LPN Classification.

The nominees to make up the collective agreement agreed upon 3 person bargaining committee listed here in alphabetical order by last name are as follows:

• Genoveva Haugen
• Linda Kirby
• Phil LeVesconte
• Jo Walsh

Your ballots have been created by our support staff and the names of the nominees will be sorted by an outside party to list them on the ballots in no particular order.

Elections:

The election process begun on March 14, 2018 at the meeting where members could start to place their votes and can continue to do so through to 7:00 p.m. on April 13, 2018. All ballots must be received by us no later than at the day to vote on April 13, 2018 prior to the close, 7:00 p.m.

Printed Ballots and Declaration Ballot envelopes may be used by you at any time during the election window. Ballots and declaration envelopes can be located at the front receptionist desk in both buildings at your work location at any time for your use.

Members may use a Declaration Ballot envelop and return their ballot to our North Island Area Office at any time during the 30 day election period. Or if you are in Nanaimo and would like to drop in during office hours to cast your ballot you may do so at any time up to April 12, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. All ballots sent by you must be received by our office no later than April 12, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. in order to be included at the day to vote and included in the ballot count on April 13, 2018 at your work location.

Important Note:

Declaration Ballot Envelopes must be used for all ballots cast outside of the 'day to vote' at your worksite to which has been set for April 13, 2018 between 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. within your facility. A separate notice will follow in regards to the 'day to vote' at the facility to which you work. We have the Declaration Ballot envelops available to you at the CVSV front Receptionist Desk.

Day to Vote at your work location in person has been arranged for the last day of the election period. That day will lead us to the close of the election at 7:00 p.m. on April 13, 2018.

Note: If you are able to attend and vote in person you will not need to use a declaration envelop as a membership list and a locked ballot box will be available for use during this time.

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Place: Multipurpose Room @ Comox Valley Seniors Village

Balloting Committee:
All ballots must be received at our office no later than April 12, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. or returned at the day to vote at your work location on April 13, 2018 up to 7:00 p.m. The election will close at this time and all ballots received by the deadlines will be counted. A balloting committee shall be appointed to assist with the counting of your ballots following the close of the election period.

Ballots:
Please mark with an 'X' your choice of 3 of the nominees to make up your choice for your 3 person bargaining committee. Marking more than 3 boxes or not clearly marking your 3 choices could result in your ballot being spoiled. Ballots not returned in person during the day to vote must be placed within a completed and signed Declaration Ballot Envelope. Failure to follow these instructions could result in your ballot being spoiled.

Ballots and Declaration Ballot Envelopes can be located at the CVSV and Casa Loma front Receptionist Desk or through the assistance of your Worksite Stewards. If you are not attending in person, you must use a declaration ballot envelope to send or deliver your ballot to us.

If you have any questions or need assistance please refer to your stewards prior to April 13, 2018 so that you can cast your ballot prior to the deadline to do so.
