Members at BC NDP MLA'S (Constituency Assistants) - Bargaining Update - Revised Ratification document - BCGEU

Further to the ratification ballot that was mailed to you on July 11th, please find a revised version of the Settlement Document here.

Changes to this revised version include:

  • Article 25 Maternity/Parental/Adoption Leave – there are a number of important changes to this article, in line with the recent changes to the Employment Insurance Act and Employment Standards, including an extension to the leave period and the continuation of health & welfare benefits to the end of the extended leave period. Additionally, up to 10 paid special leave days for a non-birth parent, earlier deleted, has been included under the Parental Leave language. The Pre-Adoption placement leave has not been included.
  • Wage Grids – Casuals have been returned to the grid for July 2017 and July 2018 in order to include them in the retroactive salary increases. The Casual line will be deleted from the grid, as of date of ratification, and all Casuals will move to Step 1.
