Re: STRIKE VOTE SCHEDULED
Further to our July 24th bulletin to members, your Bargaining Committee has now considered the options open to us to achieve a fair and reasonable renewal collective agreement. As part of that process you were consulted as widely as possible. Your Bargaining Committee couldn't speak with everyone but spoke to the vast majority of you about your thoughts.
As you are aware, negotiations broke off on July 12th. While agreement was reached on a number of non-monetary items, the Employer's proposal for a renewal agreement fell short by offering wage increases of 1%/1%/1% in each year of a three year term as well as other minor monetary changes. You've told us that this is entirely inadequate.
In addition to wages, the Union is asking for monetary improvements in other areas including benefits. We also have some outstanding non-monetary language to address including a means of addressing workload concerns.
You'll need to show your employer that you won't accept what they've offered by delivering a strong strike vote. A drop-in style meeting has been scheduled for you to come and vote.

Time: 9 am – 6 pm
Members of the Bargaining Committee will be available at the drop in meeting to provide information and answer questions.
Voting will only take place at the meeting.
Every vote counts so please make the time to come out to ask any questions you may have, get a full explanation of what the issues are and cast your ballot!
Your bargaining committee is asking for your support and recommending a yes vote.
