PHYSICAL WORK LOCATION:

1. Where will NTT’s headquarters be?

NTT Data headquarters will be in Vancouver, but they also have an office in Victoria. The Service Centre will be at a new space in Burnaby near Willingdon Sky Train Station.

2. Will workers have to move to Vancouver (or anywhere) to centralize?

NTT Data Canada will work under a similar business model as ISM Canada. There will be a main centralized Service Desk in Burnaby and employees who work in the field will continue to stay at their locations.

3. Will NTT honour existing telework agreements?

Yes, Telework Agreements will be honoured. NTT Data Canada promotes a work from home culture.

4. Is NTT going to replace the existing infrastructure?

Yes, there will be new tool sets in a new facility.

5. Who will be providing our benefits?

The answer to this question is TBD.

6. Will employees who accept an offer of employment from NTT Data Canada continue to be covered by the Public Service Pension Plan?

NTT Data Canada has agreed to adopt the terms of the current collective agreement which includes the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP). Of course, NTT Data Canada will have to undergo a process to apply for and be recognized as a participating Employer under the PSPP.

COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT:

7. Will there be a collective agreement with NTT Data Canada and the BCGEU?

BCGEU and NTT Data Canada will create a new collective agreement which will include the same terms as the collective agreement between ISM Canada and the BCGEU-just with the different employer. New terms will not be negotiated at this time. This also means pay scales will stay the same.

8. What will happen to employees currently represented by the BCGEU who remain with ISM Canada to service the WSS contract?

They will remain ISM employees under the BCGEU-ISM Canada collective agreement.

9. Will there be early retirement packages offered?

No. ISM Canada needs to retain employees to continue providing service under the provincial government contract.

PHSA and NTT DATA Canada CONTRACT:

10. What changes (if any) are there to the scope of the health contract and can we see the contract for ourselves?

Changes are not known at this time. The contract is not publicly available at this time.

11. In the WEST RFP it said that health authorities will have the right to opt out of using NTT Data Canada to provide service. If a health authority opts now or in the future to bring work back in house or contract with another vendor, what happens to us?

None of the Health Authorities opted out of the Core Services contract. We cannot predict the future. There are Article 13 and/or BCGEU-Public Service Agreement MOU 5 protections for BCGEU members if faced with any such workforce adjustments in the future.

12. Does IBM still have options for two 3 month extensions to the Health Authorities Contract?

Yes - the optional extensions are exercisable as determined by the PHSA.


13. Will those who accept an offer of employment from NTT Data Canada work for NTT or a subsidiary of NTT?

NTT Data Canada has no plans to set up another company or subsidiary. NTT Data Canada is operating a separate business unit within NTT Data Canada.

14. Will NTT be using other (partner) vendors, and if so what vendors and for what work?

NTT Data Canada will be implementing new tools, and will continue to partner with Microserve as IBM does today.

TRANSITION PROCESS:

15. What will the transition process be?

The parties are working to refine this process. Seniority will be recognized in the process. Further details will be provided when available.

16. Are employees from the Health Authorities coming over to NTT with us?

There is an option in the Request for Proposal (RFP) for this, but it is not decided at this time whether this option will be used.

17. How many employees will NTT be taking?

The answer to this question is TBD.

18. What will happen to auxiliary employees working on the Health Authorities Contract?

Refer to #15 above-auxiliary employees will also be considered in the process.
