Voting for the Kamloops Office Representative position on the Themis transition committee closed on May 1, 2019 and ballots were counted on May 10, 2019. Judy Helset has been declared elected. Congratulations, Judy!
Voting for the Victoria Office Representative position ends on Thursday, May 16 and the result will be announced shortly thereafter. Once the Victoria election has concluded the entire committee will be in place and will begin to plan its work.
On the matter of postponing bargaining and the issue of retroactive salary increases, your union and Government continue to discuss potential language for an agreement to those ends. At this point nothing has been formally agreed. For the BCGEU, any such agreement must contain a clear commitment re salary increases. We will provide a further update as soon as there is anything more to report.
