Membership Meeting & Review of Ratification Document for members at Town of Gibsons - BCGEU

To:       All BCGEU Members at Town of Gibsons
Re:       Membership Meeting – Review of Ratification Document

The bargaining committee has approached the Employer regarding two areas on the ratification document that have been raised by the membership: Article 13.9 - Seasonal Modified Workweek and Article 16.1 - Annual Vacation Entitlement. The bargaining committee has asked the Employer for clearer language on 13.9(e) and a definition for "hours worked" in 16.1. The Employer has agreed to revise the language on both articles and the revised wording has now been signed by the Parties. (see attachment for exact wording)

The revised wording on Articles 13.9 and 16.1 will be circulated to the membership for review and discussion at a general membership meeting that will be held on April 11 at the Gibsons Garden Inn from 4:15 to 5:00 pm for drop in and 5:00 to 7:00 pm for the general membership meeting. The details of the meeting are noted below.

In addition to the general membership meeting being held on April 11, Kim Howse, the staff representative assigned to the Town of Gibsons bargaining, and Dave MacDonald, Component 17 VP, will be available to meet with members individually (or as a group) on April 10 between 10 am to 4 pm. If you want to meet on April 10, please advise the bargaining committee member from your work area and a meeting time and place will be arranged.

Voting on the revised deal will not take place at the general membership meeting.
