- Your current Collective Agreement expires on March 1, 2017 and it is time to prepare for your next round of bargaining. You should all begin thinking about bargaining proposal suggestions and, of course, a new Bargaining Committee must be elected.
- Call for Bargaining Committee Nominations: Nominations are now open for two Bargaining Committee Members, and an alternate. If you are interested in being part of the Bargaining Committee, and would like more details of what this might entail, please contact the Area Office or your current Bargaining Unit Chairperson Bob Lund.
ALL NOMINATION FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE KAMLOOPS BCGEU OFFICE BY 5 P.M. ON February 15, 2017. Nomination Forms are attached, or can be obtained from the Kamloops BCGEU Office. Nomination Forms must be fully-completed in order to be accepted. Only signed-up members of the Union are eligible for election.
Election Process: A bulletin providing “nomination results” will be sent out shortly after the closing date of nominations. If more nominations than vacant positions are received, a vote will be conducted to determine the successful candidates. The elected Bargaining Committee Members will choose the Bargaining Unit Chairperson for the term of the next Collective Agreement from amongst themselves.
- Bargaining Proposals: Please jot down your ideas as you think of them. A Bargaining Questionnaire to formalize your proposals will be circulated once a Bargaining Committee has been elected.
We look forward to your interest and participation in the upcoming bargaining process.
