Women in the workforce suffer musculoskeletal injury (MSI) at significantly higher rates than men.
The Occupational Health and Safety Regulation defines MSI as:
"an injury or disorder of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, blood vessels or related soft tissue including a sprain, strain and inflammation, that may be caused or aggravated by work."
These types of injuries can severely affect your ability to function at work and can spill over into your personal life, impacting your family and community. We encourage you to review the attached fact sheet and poster. Please print, share this information and post at your worksite. To protect yourself, it is important to recognize the risk factors and early signs and symptoms of musculoskeletal injury.
