Your bargaining committee met with the employer on September 17th and tabled all non-monetary proposals at that time. The Union's package was comprehensive and covered many issues that range from "housekeeping", which is simple corrections in spelling, punctuation and location of language within the collective agreement, to harassment and domestic abuse. The employer also tabled a small package of proposals that the bargaining committee is considering. Progress was made, and we have agreed on several non-contentious items.

We are scheduled to meet with the employer again on October 16th and 17th to continue discussions.

 Navneet Randhawa will be replacing Chris Cordova on the bargaining committee effective October 13, 2018. I would like to thank Chris for his work on this set of bargaining and to welcome Navneet to the committee.

There are still spots available to sign up to observe bargaining. One member who sat in last time said, "I appreciate all of the work that went into preparing for the negotiations now! The committee was very organized. I feel better knowing the lead negotiator from BCGEU made a point of calling it the employees' agreement. It's comforting to know the goal is to support our concerns." Please get in touch with your stewards or your bargaining committee to sit in on the next sessions – it's a great opportunity to see how your next agreement will be forged.
