There have been a lot of conversations about the 2022 collective agreement. It may seem early, but now is the time to prepare for the next round of negotiations with the B.C. Public Service Agency (representing the provincial government, the employer for the majority of Component 12 - Administrative Professionals members.) This is why, in addition to planning worksite visits, your BCGEU component launched a member-to-member campaign during Administrative Professionals' Week in April. We want to start building member capacity now and that means learning more about what you are thinking and how you are feeling.
With your input, we can continue to push for action on your workplace needs, such as genuine respect, higher wages, vacancies being filled promptly, and classification improvements both at the bargaining table and in between rounds of bargaining.
We need to empower ourselves to achieve these things. By building capacity for the next round of bargaining and beyond, we hope to create a culture of engagement, respect and understanding about the union, and ensure we have information to contact members quickly.
We need to hear from you. Please visit our digital speakers' corner.
Tell us what makes you proud to be an administrative professional, what you've achieved in recent years and what are your greatest challenges on the job. You can print the poster we've attached to this email. Put it up on your local union bulletin board!
Our campaign includes continued visits by component executive members to communities and workplaces across the province over the summer and into the fall. We will let you know when we're in your area.
