October 18 is Health Care Assistant Day

On Health Care Assistant Day, we celebrate B.C.'s 38,000 Health Care Assistants, and the thousands of members in our union's Health Services (Component 4) and Community Health Services (Component 8) sectors who provide the valuable, frontline services to seniors and people with chronic illnesses.

The term Health Care Assistant includes many different job titles including Community Health Worker, Residential Care Aide, Home Support Worker, Long-Term Care Aide, Home Health Aide, Continuing Care Assistant, and Personal Care Aide.
