An arbitrator has just ordered your employer, Paramed, to pay out excess vacation amounts owed to employees. These payment amounts have been finalized, and add up to a total of almost $400,000!
Community Health Workers who are entitled to a vacation payout should have received a payment on June 3, 2019 representing all excess vacation pay accrued up to June 30, 2017.
Provided the Union agrees on the Employer's calculations, CHWs will then be entitled to a second payment on July 22, 2019, representing all excess vacation pay accrued from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019. Schedulers entitled to a payout will also receive a payment for their total excess vacation at that time.
At the time of the second payout, all employees will also receive information about what is in their vacation banks and the amounts of their payouts.
