The bargaining committee for the Victoria Salvation Army (ARC) reached a tentative agreement with the employer in the afternoon of July 25, 2018.
A summary of the tentative agreement is below. The committee supports this tentative agreement and recommends voting in favour of accepting the tentative agreement:
A three year tentative agreement:
Wages:
A total of a 9% wage increase over three years.
October 1, 2018 – 5%
April 1, 2019 – 2%
April 1, 2019 2%
Maternity/Paternity Leave
Increases in the total weeks of leave to mirror the Employment Insurance Benefits.
Gender Neutral Language
Seniority Lists
Seniority lists will be provided quarterly (rather than annually).
Causal employees:
An additional clause to ensure causals are not called for work where they are not trained or orientated to do the work.
We invite you to come to the meeting in the CRF classroom at 2:00pm on August 2, 2018, to listen to the bargaining committee present the tentative agreement and answer any questions you may have. You will also have an opportunity to vote at the meeting or any time until August 27th at 12:00 pm.
