Today the provincial government announced its decision to transition BCGEU members in revenue management and IM/IT services back into government employment once the contract between the Ministry of Finance and Advanced Solutions Inc. has expired.

The current contract is scheduled to end on March 31, 2020. However in order to provide for a smooth transition, government has decided to negotiate a one-year contract extension (April 1, 2020 – March 31, 2021) with Advanced Solutions Inc. and that discussion will begin immediately.

As this process moves forward, your union will be representing you as your bargaining agent. As well, the employer, the BCGEU, and the Ministry of Finance are all committed to ensuring a smooth transition.

Decision-making regarding the one-year extension and other transition details will take a number of months. Further information will be communicated to you as we receive it. In the meantime please feel free to contact your area office or JLMC union representatives with any questions.
