River Rock Bargaining - Labour Board Mediation Update - BCGEU

You may be wondering, we voted overwhelmingly for strike action, now what's happening? Here's a brief update from your bargaining committee.

Beginning on August 17th, and with the assistance of a Labour Board mediator, we resumed collective agreement negotiations with your Employer. Rest assured, our incredibly strong strike mandate remains in full force and effect. The mediation process is to assist both sides to try and reach a deal without having to resort to job action. Will it work? That remains to be seen, but we are sure going to give it our best shot! We head back to the Labour Board on August 30th.

Finally, in the coming days a series of strike preparation meetings will take place in Richmond. It may be that we have to resort to job action to get a fair collective agreement. If that's the case, we need to be fully prepared and informed. Stay tuned for dates and times.

Many thanks for all of your support!
