The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FEDERAL RETIREES and the CANADIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION are hosting a Town Hall Meeting on November 8 at the Mary Irwin Theatre, Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna. The event will be from 6:00 to 9:00pm.
NAFR has membership of over 180,000 members across Canada and 1600 members in the Central Okanagan. We will be engaging like minded organizations to participate in our event and are planning on filling the theatre, which seats 346 people.
The purpose of the Town Hall Meeting is to discuss the resurgence of the Health Accord. We, as seniors, would like to gather concerns and suggestions to be forwarded for consideration in the formulation of the new Health Accord. There will be a series of these meetings across Canada. The event will be filmed and report will be forwarded to the Health Ministers.
We will have a panel of experts in health care that will address issues related to seniors. The panel will each speak for five minutes on their area of expertise then answer predetermined questions which will be directed to them according to their area of knowledge and then we will entertain controlled questions from the audience.
The panel will be:
Dr. Granger Amery, President, CMA
Rick Turner, Co-Chair, BC Health Coalition
Past President, BC Pharmacists
We hope to see you there!
