We're reaching out today to let you know about how bargaining has been progressing so far, and to share a bit of good news.

This week at bargaining we were successful in achieving a significant gain on the issue of patron abuse. We know how strongly you feel about this topic. The Employer has agreed to start implementing the process right away!

We have signed off on many other improvements too, however, we are still far apart on many other items that you have identified as important. We are scheduling more bargaining dates mid-September and will continue to meet to negotiate you the best deal.

Bargaining is shifting gears, and it is critical that we can reach you for your opinion and to inform you of what is happening. We need to have a plan of action in place to get the information back to the membership. We need your help with this. 

Please make sure your email information is up to date so that you can get the most current information on bargaining by going to my.bcgeu.ca/login and registering if you have not already. This will guarantee that you will have access to all the important information regarding your membership within the BCGEU such as:

• Bargaining updates
• Current copy of your collective agreement
• Union wide notices
• Plus much, much more
