Strike Vote/Employer Memo for River Rock Members - BCGEU

Yesterday, hundreds of you came out to vote "YES" at the strike ballot box. Your Employer also sent out a memo to try to crush your spirit in your fight for a fair collective agreement. You can expect to see a lot more of that as the fight heats up.

Here is what's happening. The Union has suspended bargaining to take a strike vote. The lack of progress at the bargaining table on key issues to date has been a clear message that the Employer isn't taking your concerns seriously. More meetings with the Employer wasn't working. We needed to convince them you are serious about getting a fair collective agreement. A strike vote does that.

This is the reason you joined a union in the first place – the Employer not taking your concerns seriously. We'll be back at the table once the strike vote is done, but with a strong mandate from you demanding a fair agreement.

Your Bargaining Committee: Cherry Huang, Hayman Sung, Harvinder Jaswal, San Chen, Glenn Matheson,
Zenaida Ordonez, Watson Tseng, Eric Escobar
