Bargaining with the Employer has Begun—Initial Proposals to be Exchanged at March 15th Bargaining Session
Yesterday we met with your employer at the Technical Safety BC Vancouver office. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss protocol items and begin the bargaining process and set the stage for bargaining to begin on March 15th at the BCGEU headquarters. Initial proposals will be exchanged at this meeting.
Over the past month we have met amongst ourselves as your BCGEU Bargaining Committee reviewing questionnaires and working to develop bargaining proposals.
During the bargaining process we will keep you informed through emailed bulletins from the BCGEU. These bulletins will also be available on the BCGEU website. Please ensure you update your contact information with the union so you will be kept up to date on the bargaining process. The link is in the last paragraph of this bulletin.
Your bargaining committee representatives are a phone call away. Throughout this process we ask that you get your information about bargaining from those that are actually at the table and don't buy into the rumour mill.
Your support through the bargaining process is important. To help ensure you receive a copy of bargaining updates, please provide a personal email address to the BCGEU at http://www.bcgeu.ca/update. If we already have an email address on file for you and you wish to edit or update any of your existing contact information, you can use the same form.
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee:
Jackie Pierre – Bargaining Committee Chair
Lorraine Robinson – Bargaining Committee Member
Ann McLean– Bargaining Committee Member
Gary Bennett, Staff Representative – Negotiations
