There has been some confusion among bargaining unit members regarding the applicable salary grid for BCIT Support bargaining unit members because the grid attached to the collective agreement is outdated, the union has been told.
We are therefore sending you an updated salary grid for the current collective agreement, which can be accessed by clicking here.
This version of the salary grid takes into account the applicable general wage increases and the Economic Stability Dividend increases applicable to the collective agreement to date, and includes updated wage calculations for all classifications for each applicable increase.
This wage grid updates and replaces the ones contained in the 2014-19 collective agreement.
Your bargaining committee has reviewed this salary grid to ensure accuracy. Please review your current pay stub, and report any discrepancy to payroll and your union steward.
Under the terms of the 2014-2019 collective agreement, you will be entitled to a final Economic Stability Dividend (ESD) increase on May 1, 2019, if applicable. This final ESD calculation will be made closer to that date.
The current collective agreement ends on June 30, 2019.
As a reminder, your bargaining committee was elected back in May, and includes:
- Richard Schaeffer – Chair;
- Kim Daniels;
- Carla Reid; and
- Darryl Wong.
Preliminary preparations are underway with regard to the next round of bargaining. The union will keep you updated of developments.
In solidarity
Oliver Rohlfs
Staff Representative
