Your AgeCare Union Bargaining Committee met with your employer last week at the negotiation table. The Union had proposed some significant changes (at the table back in early January 2024) for the Collective Agreement and were anticipating a response from the employer last week. The employer did not provide a response to our monetary proposals last week.
 
We are actively seeking a way forward, to make significant achievements this round. You have been very vocal about the changes you are expecting to see, and we know you deserve them.
 
We cannot get into specific details on proposed items at the table, as we intend to uphold the bargaining protocols that we agreed with your employer, which includes not attempting to bargain proposals (that have hit the table) with the membership/employees directly.
 
At this point we are currently waiting on the employer's intent to present a revised proposal on rotation and, or extended shift agreements.
 
We are strategizing on the best way to move forward, and we will keep you posted as things develop.
