Re:    Bargaining Update

Bargaining dates for 2017 have been confirmed for January 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2017. The Bargaining Committee is hopeful that four consecutive days of bargaining should assist the Parties in reaching a tentative deal to bring to the membership for a ratification vote.

The Bargaining Committee wants to acknowledge the support from the bargaining unit through the bargaining process. Bargaining has taken much longer than anticipated. In response to the length of time the bargaining has taken and in response to the feedback received from the membership meeting convened on November 24, 2016, the BCGEU has drafted a letter to the District seeking productive and expeditious negotiations. A copy of this letter to the District will be available from your bargaining committee. Please approach them in person if you would like a copy.

We will keep the membership updated on the progress at the bargaining table and thank the membership for their support through this process.
