Your BCGEU Bargaining Committee met with the employer on May 2nd and 3rd, in Vancouver, to carry on negotiations for a renewal collective agreement. The employer tabled their first response to our monetary proposals.
 
Both parties have expressed their commitment to working hard to achieve a fair and reasonable agreement. However, we are still very far apart; in particular, on the monetary issues.
 
The employer has requested additional time to review our demands and we have agreed to meet again on May 24th. We'll report back again immediately following our next bargaining session.
