The union is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with MCFA, Youth Custody Division, to retroactively adjust the regular seniority date for some affected Component 1 Corrections Officers.The union is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with MCFA, Youth Custody Division, to retroactively adjust the regular seniority date for some affected Component 1 Corrections Officers.

Under the terms of the agreement, the assignment of regular seniority dates will be the first day of the month following the date on which the auxiliary Corrections Officer (CO) qualified for benefits pursuant to clause 31.9 of the Master Agreement.

This agreement will apply whether the CO received a regular position through conversion or through the competition process.

The employer has agreed to re-open all classifications covered by the Corrections and Sheriff Services component and make the appropriate adjustments.

The union will advise members of any further developments on this issue as they occur.
