The B.C. Government and Service Employees’ Union expressed its condolences on the passing of Elaine Laite, a Prince George Regional Correctional Centre corrections supervisor who died on the weekend following a motorcycle accident.

“We are saddened to hear about the loss of Elaine, who served British Columbians as a corrections officer in Prince George,” said BCGEU president Stephanie Smith. “I wish to express our sincere condolences on behalf of the union to Elaine’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
