AGENDA

Nominations are now open for all Local 104 Executive positions as follows:
• Chairperson
• Recording Secretary/Treasurer (one position)
• Vice Chairperson, District I - (Ford Mountain Correctional Centre)
• Vice Chairperson, District II (Sheriffs - Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Surrey)
• Vice Chairperson, District III (Surrey Pretrial Services Centre)
• Vice Chairperson, District IV (Alouette Correctional Centre for Women)
• Vice Chairperson, District V (Fraser Regional Correctional Centre)
• Youth Member at Large (candidates must be under 30 years of age)
• Member at Large (five positions - one from each District)

Nominations for a particular district will be accepted from members employed in that District only.

• Should an election be necessary for Chairperson, Recording Secretary/Treasurer, Youth Member at Large or any of the Vice Chairperson positions, the position will be elected by all members of Local 104.
• Should an election be necessary for any of the Member at Large positions, the position will be elected by the members employed in that particular District only.

Nominations will close at the meeting. Nomination form attached and must be received at the Fraser Valley Area Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2009 (fax - 604-882-5032 or toll free 1-800-946-0249). In an effort to use less paper and be more earth friendly, only one nomination form is attached to this notice. Please make any necessary copies and ensure you clearly mark which position/District you are being nominated for. Nominations will also be taken off the floor at the meeting, however, such nominees must either be present to indicate (or if absent, have indicated in writing) their willingness to stand for election. If unable to attend, written acceptance must be received at the Area Office by 5:00 p.m., February 26, 2009.

If more than one nomination is received for a position, an election will be conducted. Candidates have the right to submit a biography (not to exceed 250 words) which will be distributed to the membership in the event of an election and must be submitted within one (1) day of close of nominations.
