Community Health Bargaining Update - BCGEU

We've finished a third week of bargaining between the Community Bargaining Association (CBA) and the Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC) in Vancouver. Our talks are aimed at concluding a new collective agreement for members in community health.

"Progress is being made," said BCGEU Component 8 vice-president Scott DeLong. "Two sub-committees have been meeting to deal with health and safety, and EDMP, the Enhanced Disability Management Program. The CBA is committed to working weekends to get a new agreement in a timely fashion. I'd like to thank the BCGEU bargaining committee for its dedication to members."

The CBA represents roughly 16,000 employees working in community health around B.C. The majority are represented by the BCGEU. Other unions present at the table are UFCW, HEU, CUPE, HSA, USWA, CLAC and BCNU.

Your existing collective agreement expires on March 31, 2019.

We'll keep you updated on the progress.

In solidarity,
