To: All BCGEU Members of Local 602 – Social, Information and Health Component
Re: Election of Local Chairperson
Nominations have closed for the position of Local Chairperson and we have two candidates for position of Chairperson.
Enclosed are your ballot, instructions, and biographies of the candidates running.
Once you have received your ballot, please mail it back in as per the directions on the information sheet and self-addressed stamped envelopes we have provided. It is important that you vote as your Chairperson is who leads you on provincial and local issues; and is your voice and representative for the North Island.
Thank you and again, I remind you of the importance of voting. The BCGEU Constitutional Convention, held every 3 years, is being held in June of 2017. Local 602 requires a strong voice from the North Island.
In solidarity
Lynda Morrice
Staff Representative
From: Sue Powell, Local 602 Chairperson
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of 602 for their support through the years. It has been an amazing journey for me. I have learned more about myself, my members and the BCGEU. I am moving on to the next stage of my life. I am running for the BCNDP in the Parksville/Qualicum riding. I could not do this without the support of members like you through the years, without the support of my friends and the support of the BCGEU. I wish all of you the best in the New Year and to encourage you to stand up for your rights and speak out when they are trampled on. In solidarity, Sue Powell"
