Hard Rock Casino Members Grievance Filed on Discipline Issued Prior to Ratification - BCGEU


The Union has filed a grievance on behalf of all impacted members regarding discipline.

 

It has come to our attention that discipline issued prior to ratification is being made subject to the terms of Article 9.2 and being held on file for 17 months. It is the Union's position that any discipline issued prior to ratification should be removed according to the terms under which it was issued. Discipline issued prior to ratification should be removed at 12 months as long as there have been no further infractions. 

 

If you have discipline on your file from prior to ratification, the Union is advising you inform the Employer you are seeking to have it be removed at 12 months. If the Employer does not remove it, please seek the advice of steward. 

 

If you are unsure if you have discipline on your file or if you don't know the date it was issued, be aware that Article 9.3 (a) says every member has the right to view their personnel file upon request (with reasonable notice).
