Congratulations to SafeCare BC on their successful campaign to raise public awareness of the impact of snow and icy conditions on homecare providers. Thanks to the work of SafeCare BC, stories from workers about the challenges they face were published in several national and provincial media outlets and started a meaningful public dialogue.

SafeCare BC is an industry funded safety association representing companies that are not covered by the direct public health authorities. They are responsible for developing strategies to reduce injuries to workers in the home support sector and long term care. The BCGEU is represented by Mike Nuyens (Executive Vice President) on the SafeCare BC Board of directors.
