Re: Call for Delegates for Sectoral Bargaining Conference

In preparation for sectoral agreements contract expiry in 2019, the BCGEU is holding a Community Social Services Sectoral Bargaining Conference in Richmond on November 6 and 7, 2017.

Members interested in working on and providing input into the next round of bargaining for their sectoral collective agreement should complete and submit the attached nomination form for delegate to this Conference.

Call for Nominations: The number of delegates to be elected for each Sectoral Agreement in Local 303 are as follows:

Community Living Services: 8 delegates and 4 alternates

General Services: 3 delegates and 2 alternates

Aboriginal Services: 2 delegates and 1 alternate

Members who are nominated must work under one of the sectoral agreements and must be available to attend both dates of the Sectoral Bargaining Conference of November 6 and 7. (The Union will provide leave to attend the Conference and arrange for necessary travel and accommodations, as well as cover meals and child care, for the elected delegates.)

Deadline: Nominations must be submitted by fax at (604) 215-1410 or by email to [email protected] and received by the Lower Mainland Area Office no later than 5:00 pm on September 27, 2017, or in person at the Delegate Election Meeting – details below.

Local 303 Delegate Election Meeting: 

Date: Wednesday, September 27, 2017

Time: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Location: Lower Mainland Area Office, 130-2920 Virtual Way, Vancouver, BC

Delegates will be elected at this meeting only. Members in attendance at this meeting may only vote for the delegates representing their sectoral agreement. Members who are nominated may submit a short bio of no more than 250 words to be presented at the meeting prior to the election.

The Community Social Services Sectoral Bargaining Committee members will be elected from the delegates at the Conference.
