Local 304 Members at Xyolhemeylh - Tentative Settlement Framework Reached - BCGEU


On July 16, your Bargaining Committee reached a tentative settlement framework for a first collective agreement. The framework relies in large part on the Aboriginal Services agreement from CSSEA with some significant exceptions for Xyolhemeylh. The result is more detailed than we can present in an email or bulletin communication. 

For that reason, information meetings will be held on Aug 2 (Thursday) at the following times and locations. The Employer is providing time off work to attend the meetings either by video/phone link or in person if you work in the office at which the meeting is being held:

   9:00 – 11:00 am:    Langley Office
                                   20644 Eastleigh Crescent Suite 106
                                   Langley, BC V3A 4C4

    Noon – 2:00pm:   Chilliwack Office
                                 7201 Vedder Rd
                                 Chilliwack, BC V2R 4G5 
                                (Agassiz Office to attend by link)

2:30pm – 4:30pm:   Abbotsford Office
                                 Suite 210, 2276 Clearbrook Rd
                                 Abbotsford, BC V2T 2X5
                                (Mission Office to attend by link)

We're in the process of confirming the best way to link all participants into the meetings and will have information out early next week once this is finalized. 

 

Here is the process that we will use to seek your endorsement of your first collective agreement: 

1. Information meeting on Aug 2 to present framework

2. Two weeks or so to get questions from you about the framework and answer those questions

3. Vote on the framework

4.   If you endorse the framework

a. assemble the collective agreement

b. have information meetings on the details of the agreement

c. ensure your questions about the details of the agreement get answered

d. vote on the agreement

5.   If you don't endorse the agreement 

a. we go back to bargaining with the employer, picking up where we left off before the framework was introduced
