Since our last update, your bargaining committee has met with Broadmead representatives on July 22 and 23, August 26, 27 and 28, and October 15 and 16.

During this time, the parties have been discussing non-monetary proposals from each side. As noted earlier, the BCGEU has tabled a modest set of language proposals, whereas the Employer has presented the BCGEU with an extensive package, with a view to streamlining and modernising the collective agreement.

Your bargaining committee has been clear that we are not prepared to change or dispense with decades' worth of hard-won gains for the sake of change. However, we have made progress on a number of provisions which we believe will benefit our members.

Our next bargaining dates are scheduled for October 29 and 30, November 18 to 20, December 5 and 6, 11 to 13, and 16 to 18.

We expect to exchange monetary proposals in November.

This is a very detailed and painstaking process, and we remain committed to negotiating in your best interests.
