Notice Of Bargaining Committee Election for BCIT - Instructional Unit - BCGEU

Nominations for BCIT Instructors bargaining committee members closed on September 20.

Cory Langford has been acclaimed as bargaining unit chair. Congratulations!

The union also received the following nominations for the three positions of bargaining committee members (in random order):

  • Steve Holding;
  • Tamara Pongracz;
  • Erich Moeller;
  • Nathan Chapin.

Given that the number of nominations exceeds the number of positions available, the union will proceed with an election. You will be required to vote for three candidates of your choice.

Biographies from candidates are attached to this notice, and will be included with the balloting materials. Feel free to contact the candidates to ask them any questions you may have.

Balloting for bargaining committee members will occur in the workplace, and at all BCIT campuses. We did not opt for mail-in ballots, owing to the possibility of Canada Post job action in the near future.

You will be advised of balloting dates and hours in a separate notice, once they have been finalized with the bargaining unit chair. There is plenty of time to vote - balloting will close on October 30, 2018 at 5:00pm.

Make your voice heard – vote!

In solidarity,

Oliver Rohlfs
BCGEU staff representative
