As you may know, your collective agreement expires at the end of this year. With that in mind we have recently, on two separate occasions, met with other transit unions to share information about timing and scheduling through a committee called the Joint Union Council (JUC). It is important we understand issues and matters at other tables as we often share similar concerns at our own bargaining tables. There is another meeting scheduled in May 2019.

In the meantime, we have been raising important bargaining unit issues with the employer at our regular Joint Labour/Management Committee (JLMC) meetings, including issues around Family Responsibility Leave and emergency staffing/crowd control. Our next JLMC meeting is scheduled for March 11, 2019.

In the coming months, we will be requesting nominations for the union's 2019/2020 bargaining committee. As we prepare for the next round of bargaining, we look forward to hearing from members on what issues matter most to determine our priorities for bargaining.
