PRT Growing Services - Bargaining Update - BCGEU

The Union met with your employer again on March 14th and 15th in Kelowna to continue bargaining.

This time, we returned to the table with the strength and solidarity of your 93% strike vote!

We made progress in some areas and plenty of good discussion took place. However, the progress is slow and the big issues are still outstanding, such as a decent wage increase, access to health & welfare benefits, sick leave and job security. The employer is hoping we will back off on these important proposals, but we have heard you and we have taken a strong stand.

Further dates have been scheduled for March 26th and 27th. We are hopeful things will move quicker when we return to the table. We will continue to fight for the wages, benefits and the improvements to working conditions that we all deserve!

In solidarity,

Jan Brewer, Bargaining Committee Chair
Nora Wallach, Bargaining Committee member
Darrell Strom, Bargaining Committee member
Marcel Ouellet, Bargaining Committee member
Linsay Buss, Staff Representative, Negotiations
